About
Welcome to the "GMAW/FCAW on Plate" course, designed specifically for structural, tank, and vessel welders. This introductory program will immerse you in the fundamentals of Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) on plate, adhering to ISO standards. Our comprehensive curriculum covers essential safety practices, the principles of GMAW and FCAW processes, and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). You will gain 120 hours of hands-on experience in material fit-up and preparation, wire selection, welding positions, techniques, and understanding welding code criteria and regulations. Throughout the course, you will master welding positions including 1F-1G (Flat), 2F-2G (Horizontal), 3F-3G (Vertical), and 4F-4G (Overhead) in both Fillet and Groove configurations. Your welding specimens will undergo mechanical evaluation to qualify for ASME Section 9 code standards and AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code acceptance criteria. Additionally, your theoretical knowledge will be assessed through lectures to ensure a thorough understanding of the subject matter. Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate of completion in the introduction to GMAW and FCAW on plate. This certification will attest to your ability to produce high-quality, sound welds and perform entry-level assembly and maintenance welding tasks in fabrication shops, as well as tank and vessel welding environments. Join us to enhance your welding skills and open doors to new career opportunities in the welding industry.
