Are you ready to become a professional and competent welder in the Petro-Chemical industry? Our Combo Welder (SMAW and GTAW) course is designed to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge to excel in the field. This comprehensive program covers the most common field pipe welding processes, ensuring you are well-prepared for a successful career. Throughout the course, you will learn the basics of safety, fundamentals, and principles of Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) to ISO standards. You will gain expertise in proper PPE usage, filler metal and electrode sizing and selection, welding electrode/filler metal positioning, welding techniques, and welding code criteria and regulations. The course includes hands-on training in various welding pipe positions such as 1G (Rotated pipe), 2G (Horizontal weld), 5G (fixed position pipe), and 6G (pipe at a 45-degree upright angle) using corresponding filler metals and electrodes. You will work with 7018 rods for the welding process, as well as ER70S-2 and ER70S-6. Your 6G position pipe welding specimens will be mechanically tested to ASME Section 9 code standards and ASME B31.3 (Standard Pipe Construction code) VT acceptance criteria. Additionally, you will be tested on lecture educational knowledge to fulfill lab/class hours. Upon completion of this course, you will receive a certificate of proficiency in Combination Pipe Welding with GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Stick). You will be capable of performing high-quality, sound pipe welds in manufacturing, industrial plants, fabrication shops, and more.
