About
Welcome to The Weld Zone's in-depth course on Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) on Plate. This program is expertly crafted for both novice and seasoned welders who are keen to perfect their GTAW, or TIG welding, skills. Our course emphasizes practical experience and comprehensive theoretical understanding to ensure you become adept at welding plate materials using the GTAW technique. This 120-hour course, offers the core principles of GTAW, including the setup and operation of welding equipment, the selection of suitable tungsten electrodes, and the critical role of shielding gases. Our seasoned instructors will lead you through various welding methods, such as producing clean and precise welds, controlling heat input, and preventing common welding flaws. This course covers fundamentals, safety, and principles in the GTAW welding process to ISO welding standards. You will learn proper PPE, fit-up & preparation of material, filler metal selection, welding position, welding techniques, and welding code criteria and regulations. Welding positions will include 1F-1G (Flat), 2F-2G (Horizontal), 3F-3G (Vertical), and 4F-4G (Overhead) both in Fillet and Groove. Students’ welding specimens will be mechanically tested for qualification to ASME section 9 standards and AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code VT acceptance criteria. Students will also be assessed in lecture educational knowledge for fulfillment towards Lab/Class hours. Designed to accommodate a broad spectrum of skill levels, the course offers tailored instruction and practice sessions to help you meet your welding aspirations. At completion, you will be able to perform structural welds, supports, tack welds, perform fabrication and work in fabrication shops. The course concludes with a certificate of completion in GTAW on Plate. Students will also be capable of performing excellent quality sound structural welds, supports, tack welds, fabrication, and work in fabrication shops.
